Barcelona Shore Excursion

Do you have very limited time in Barcelona and are wondering how to make the most of it? Rest assured that it´s possible to have a unique experience and enjoy Barcelona´s city center, shore and outskirts in just one day in the comfort of private transportation. Read on to learn how to make the most of your Barcelona shore excursion.

Barcelona´s traffic is very fluid which makes most of the sights very easily reachable from one another. For example, the Montjuïc hill is located right next to the port and offers some of the most spectacular views over the city. It´s a great starting point to get oriented and appreciate the beauty of Barcelona. It hosted the Olympic Games in 1992 and the Universal Exposition in 1929 so you will surely find some jaw dropping monuments on this hill. From there it´s a short ride away to the main streets in the city center – la Rambla and Passeig de Gracia which offer two completely different experiences. La Rambla is the busiest street in town with many souvenir shops and street artists. It is also home of the famous Boqueria food market. Passeig De Gracia is an exclusive shopping street featuring some of the best examples of Modernist architecture.  After admiring some of Gaudi´s most famous buildings like La Pedrera and Casa Batllo, you must see his masterpiece – la Sagrada Familia – just a 10 minutes ride away from Passeig de Gracia. This is a quintessential half day itinerary which includes most of Barcelona´s classic landmarks.

For lunch an excellent option is to go to the neighborhood of Gracia and have an authentic Spanish tapas experience. Going for tapas means you will be able to share a variety of meat, fish and vegetarian dishes – something for every taste.  For the sea food lovers,  we will take you down to the beach of Barceloneta where a number for fantastic paella restaurants are located.

After a busy morning and a hefty lunch the afternoon is a good time to take a break from the hustle and bustle of the city and head to Wine country. Catalonia is a region with a long history of wine production and export dating back to the Roman times. It is one of the regions with greatest diversity when it comes to wine. Nowadays there are numerous wine cellars that offer wine tastings of many different varieties of wine – from the bubbly cava through the fruity and refreshing white wines and reds. For our wine country tour we are partnering with a traditional family ran vineyard that produces several award winning wines. This beautiful estate is located just 20 minutes away from the city in a national park overlooking the Mediterranean sea.
